A Creation Therapist, also known as a Certified Temperament Counselor, is a person certified by the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA) in a therapeutic method called Creation Therapy. Creation Therapy, also referred to as Temperament Therapy, is a scientifically, spiritually, and biblically-based approach to behavior change.  It is a therapeutic method that was researched and developed by the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). Temperament analysis targets the source of problems by identifying temperament needs to help individuals find balance and relieve inner stress.

  • It helps us understand ourselves
  • It helps us get to know who God is, how He created us, and how we can relate to Him
  • It helps us better relate to those around us

Pastors, professional counselors, pastoral counselors, and lay counselors throughout the United States and in many foreign countries use Creation Therapy.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you..." Jeremiah 1:5 NIV

Creation Therapy is based on the principle that our temperament is placed by God within us while in our mother's womb, and that this temperament will remain with us throughout our lives. Temperament Therapy is based on creation, not evolution, and the belief that each individual is unique and created in the image and likeness of God, and therefore each individual will respond to their circumstances in a different way.  Just as God is one, and there is not another God, each and every individual that is born into this world is one and there is no other like him.  Our fingerprints, DNA, and everything in us is different from anyone else. Evolution says that we just evolved into existence when in reality it took a very intelligent being called God to knit all of our pre-descending DNA constituents together and place them in the womb of our mother.

  • We are created in the image and likeness of God
  • We are all different and unique
  • We think and act differently
  • We have different DNA, fingerprints, characters, and personalities
  • We all have God-given temperaments

Creation Therapy is the only form of therapy that isn't just used in the treatment of problems and disorders.  It is also used to help individuals and families better understand and relate to one another. Creation Therapy helps couples understand the needs of their spouse and how to best meet those needs. Creation Therapy also helps parents and teachers understand the inner workings of a child or adolescent and provides insight into problem areas.  This method is used to assist teens and young adults in career and occupational guidance. It can also be used by employers with personnel.  Temperament analysis gives the counselor the ability to detect areas where the person is vulnerable to spiritual setbacks and emotional breakdown. These areas, once identified, can then be acted upon to stop immediate problems and to prevent future problems before they arise. The Arno Profile System (APS) Response Form is administered first to determine the counselee's unique temperament. The knowledge of temperament is then integrated throughout the counseling process, tailoring the therapy to fit the individual's unique temperament needs.
